The project comprised the development of an intranet system over the Internet for marketing information to
IBM resellers. The system distributes transparent news information to resellers via world wide web. From a database
the end users always get up to date information in their web browsers. A client program, which is
automatically downloaded to the user's Windows PC, sets the parameters of the web browser. The system has
support for Microsoft and Netscape. The software on the server side was programmed in C, C++ and Perl and
the database used is the Open-Source product PostgreSQL. The client side software was programmed in Visual C++.
